THE MATH RIDDLER, PT 1
365 Days of Thanksliving — Day [10X = 365 − (2X + 5)]

Are you a math genius? Me? Not so much. You’ve heard me say it; I don’t math. But because of today’s elusive two-parter—with the sequel coming sometime.... sometime... sometime—I thought we’d have a bit of Thanksliving fun.
You know what that means? You get to participate as you read. Ready? Like Joshua in WarGames, let’s play a game… Solve for X!
No. 1: Y - (O + N + 2^2) = X
If Y = a standard trip around the sun, O = the days in the spooky month, and N = the days in the turkey month... solve for X.
No. 2: (365) - (31) - (30) - (12 ÷ 3) = ?
Take a full year of Thanksliving. Subtract all of October. Subtract all of November. Subtract a four-day weekend. What day are we celebrating tonight?
No. 3: Days In A Year - (Halloween's Month + Thanksgiving's Month + 4) = CCC
I'll even give you the answer: it's CCC. Now tell me what milestone we just hit.
No. 4: The Word Problem
If Jason and the gang have 365 days of gratitude, and he gives away 31 days to October, 30 days to November, and has exactly 4 stray days leftover in his pocket... what number is he writing about tonight?
Thanks for indulging me and my odd, de-evolved sense of humor. As you mathed it, today we hit Milestone #3. At least, I think it’s the third milestone. I don’t know how many I’ve chosen. Anyway, I think day number 300 is worth celebrating, don’t you?
Honestly, the journey to this point has seen its ups and downs; but that’s kinda life, isn’t it? Some days I’m really into it, and other days not so much. Some days it’s just me, myself, and I, with zero assistance; and other days I need to turn up the dial a bit (like today) with AI’s help. I mean, honestly, do you think I could come up with all of today’s quirkiness by myself? It takes a brain as demented as mine sometimes, hahaha!
All that said, I’m glad we’re on this journey. Days like yesterday help me stay humble and serve as reminders of why God’s Word encourages us to always be thankful. A fun reminder as to what St. Paul wrote:
“…give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” — 1 Thessalonians 5:18.
Anyway, I’m thankful for today’s math getting us to 300, and some other math that… well, will elusively remain cryptic like non-Euclidean topology for now. (I know, I’m so mean.) I’ll see ya on the flipside, on Day #301.
What are you grateful for today?
